Winter Olympics and Your Fitness
I love watching the Winter Olympics.....don't you? Although I have to admit that I have absolutely no idea what was going on in Curling yesterday!!! The best part about the Olympics to me is the stories of triumph after major setbacks. I love the story of the short track speed skater who suffered a grievous injury to his thigh (cut by a skate) and came back to win a bronze medal. I love the story of the female moguls skier who fought through years of injuries to finally win gold. I really love the Chinese figure skaters who came out of retirement and won their first gold........(read more)

Super Bowl Calorie Elimination Boot Camp Workout
Wow!!! What a great workout from my Boot Campers this morning. I am truly inspired by their enthusiasm and grit. The energy keeps building day by day. Before you know it there will be complete bedlam!!! I love the Boot Camp program. We incorporate a warm-up, stretching, muscle conditioning, plyometrics, and full body cardio into one efficient workout. The campers are seeing multiple benefits like increased strength, endurance, flexibility, energy and power....weight loss and a general feeling of well-being. How do you beat that? Super Bowl Cure
Hey Gang,
Just wanted to throw out an invitation to help you you recover from your Super Bowl Festivities!!! Pro Series Weekend

Amazing Progress
Hey Gang,
I just want to let you know about the amazing progress that is being made in our 10 Week Weight Loss/Nutrition Program (Get With The Program). In 3 short weeks we have had weight losses of 5lbs, 7lbs, 9 lbs, 11lbs, 12 lbs, and (believe it or not) 15lbs!!!!!! The clients are complaining (ha-ha) of things like; increased energy, sleeping better, being able to remove rings that haven't been taken off in 2 years, fitting into smaller clothes and feeling incredible. Monster Mash
I had the extreme pleasure of being the head judge at this weekends INBF Monster Mash. What an incredible experience! Nancy Andrews runs a professional, quality show and proves beyond any doubt that she is the face of natural bodybuilding. There was a significant amount of talent and some of the classes were almost too close to judge. I have been around this sport for some time and have seen some amazing performances, but I have to say, Saturday I witnessed one of the most incredible posing routines I have ever seen. Back in the saddle!

It's been a while since I've updated this site. I took a little hiatus to pursue another business venture. That has worked itself out and I am back to doing what I love....helping all of you reach your fitness goals and dreams. Training for Cows
Yeah, I know this is a bodybuilding magazine not an agriculture publication (like BQ: Bovine Quarterly). So, why am I discussing livestock? Well, my goal here is that when you have completed the program I am about to lay out, no one will be able to confuse your lower leg development to that of milk-fed veal. In other words your calves will be so large they will have to be referred to as “cows”.

When In Rome…….

Stay away from the pasta…I mean, “Do as the Romans do”. Yes, I know. It is an old, cheesy, worn out cliché. You have probably heard it said a gazillion times in your life, right? Even still, I am going to appeal to the slightly less than cheesy lobe of your brain with just these same words of wisdom.

Insanity in New York City
Wow! Let me say that again. Wow! I have never seen such an awesome display of muscle in all of my life. The competition at the WNBF World Championships (held in New York City this past weekend) was beyond comprehension. I feel extrememly honored just to have been a part of something of this magnitude. I spent most of the weekend re-attaching my chin to my face. I was in awe.

How Do You Know Your Suppliments Are Working?
You sit in a chair, facing the wall. There are electrodes attached to your fingers, a rubber band strapped around your chest and wiring leading to an imposing, archaic looking device. You are told not to move, to keep your hands and feet still and to answer all questions truthfully. A mountain of a man resembling a Drill Instructor who woke up on the wrong side of the bed asks questions like “Have you ever stolen anything from someone you love?”

MOTIVATION IS OVER-RATED!
Let me explain the title. Over the past 15 years or so I have had many opportunities to give a lecture on the subject of motivation. I had such an opportunity at Nancy Andrew’s Pro Series weekend in January. Due to the amount of positive feedback that I receive about this lecture, I felt compelled to share it with the masses.
I will usually start the seminar off with a statement like “I don’t want my clients (personal training) to be motivated.” At this point in time I usually pause to gauge the climate in the room.
